How the rakeback calculator works

Rakeback is paid on the house edge of each bet, not on the bet itself. The calculator multiplies your wagering by the game's edge to get the expected amount the casino keeps, then applies the rakeback rate to that figure. The result is the cash you can expect back, credited to your real balance with no wagering requirement.

Formula: rakeback = wager × house edge × rakeback rate.

A player wagering CA$5,000 a month on Originals (1% edge) at 10% rakeback receives CA$5 — small. The same player at Thrill's 70% ceiling receives CA$35, and at a 96% RTP slot (4% edge) the 70% rate would return CA$140. Rakeback grows with both volume and edge, which is why it rewards high-volume play without ever turning a negative-expectation game positive: the effective house edge line shows what you are really paying after the rebate.

Reading the results

  • Rakeback earned — cash credited over the period.
  • Expected house edge paid — what the casino expects to keep on your volume before rakeback.
  • Net expected result — your expected profit or loss after rakeback. It will be negative; rakeback reduces the loss.
  • Effective house edge — the edge you actually face after rakeback (1% at 20% rakeback → 0.8%).
  • Equivalent bonus — the size of a 35x-wagering deposit match with the same expected value, so you can compare a rakeback code against a match code.

Presets

The preset buttons load rates for the codes we track: Rainbet's BOOST20 (a 20% multiplier on the account's tier — modelled as a 10% tier boosted to 12%), Thrill's maxrakeback at its 70% ceiling, Gamdom's 15% week, and entry-level rates at Stake and Duel. Real rates depend on your VIP tier; check your account page and enter the exact number for precision.

Rakeback vs deposit match: a worked example

Take a CA$500 deposit. A 100% match adds CA$500 of bonus at 35x wagering — CA$17,500 of play. On a 96.5% RTP slot the expected cost of that play is CA$612, so the match has a negative expected value on average (but large variance). The same CA$17,500 of play at 20% rakeback on the same slot returns CA$122 in cash with zero wagering. Over the first month the match gives more bankroll to play with; over a year the rakeback gives more money back. That is why Rainbet's combination of both ranks first on our bonuses table.

Frequently asked questions

Does rakeback apply to all games?

Usually Originals and slots at the full rate; live casino and sports at reduced rates or excluded. Check the casino's rakeback page.

Is 70% rakeback real?

Thrill advertises up to 70% of the house-edge share, scaled by tier. New accounts start lower. The calculator lets you enter any rate.

Can rakeback make a game profitable?

No. Rakeback is a percentage of the house edge, so the effective edge stays positive for the house. It reduces expected loss; it cannot reverse it.

Which code gives the most rakeback for a new Canadian account?

Gamdom's 15BOOST (15% for 7 days) for the first week; Rainbet's BOOST20 for a permanent boost plus a match; Thrill for the highest long-run ceiling.
