Crypto casinos do not take Interac e-Transfer or Canadian debit cards directly. You buy crypto somewhere that does, then send it to the casino. The whole route takes about fifteen minutes the first time and five minutes afterwards.
Step 1 — Pick a Canadian exchange
You want an exchange registered with FINTRAC that funds by Interac e-Transfer and lets you withdraw crypto to an external address. The usual choices:
| Exchange | Interac funding | Trading fee | Crypto withdrawal | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shakepay | Instant, free | ~1.5% spread | BTC, ETH free | Simplest; limited coins |
| Newton | Free, same day | ~0.5–1% spread | Many coins, network fee only | Good coin selection incl. LTC, SOL |
| Kraken | Free, same day | 0.25–0.4% | Wide list, low fees | Best fees; more complex UI |
| Bitbuy | Free | ~1–2% | Wide list | Established Canadian brand |
| Wealthsimple Crypto | Free | ~1–2% spread | Limited coins | Convenient if you already use WS |
Account opening requires ID verification (10–30 minutes). First Interac deposits can be held briefly; subsequent ones are instant at Shakepay and same-day elsewhere.
Step 2 — Buy the right coin
Not Bitcoin, unless you already hold it. Network fees on BTC and ETH can exceed CA$5–20 at busy times, which is absurd on a CA$50 deposit. Buy one of:
- Litecoin (LTC) — fees of a few cents, confirmations in ~2.5 minutes, accepted everywhere.
- USDT on TRC-20 (Tron) or USDC on Solana — stablecoins pegged to the US dollar, fees under CA$1, no price swing while you play.
- SOL — very fast, very cheap, accepted by all nine brands we track.
If you want your bankroll to stay fixed in dollar terms, use a stablecoin. If you don't mind price movement, LTC is the easiest.
Step 3 — Get the casino's deposit address
In the casino's wallet page, choose the coin and the network (this matters: USDT on Tron is not USDT on Ethereum). Copy the address or scan the QR. Some casinos generate a new address per deposit; others use a fixed one.
Step 4 — Send from the exchange
Withdraw from the exchange to the casino address, selecting the same network. Double-check the first and last four characters of the address. Confirmation times: LTC ~5 minutes for casino credit, TRC-20 USDT ~1 minute, SOL seconds, BTC 10–30 minutes.
Step 5 — Enter the promo code (if you have not already)
Codes must usually be in place before the first deposit confirms. Enter it at registration; see our promo codes guide.
The on-site shortcut
Rainbet, Stake, Shuffle, Roobet and others embed an on-ramp (MoonPay, Banxa, Transak) that sells crypto for Canadian dollars by card or Apple Pay and deposits it directly. Convenient, but expect a 3–5% markup and a card issuer that may decline gambling-adjacent merchant codes. Fine for a first deposit; the exchange route is cheaper for regular play.
Withdrawing back to your bank
Reverse the route: casino → exchange deposit address → sell for CAD → Interac e-Transfer to your bank. Exchanges pay out same day; Shakepay and Newton are typically within an hour. Our withdrawal guide covers limits and KYC.
Mistakes we see every week
- Sending USDT on the wrong network (ERC-20 vs TRC-20). Funds are usually recoverable only with support's help and sometimes not at all.
- Depositing BTC at a CA$15 fee for a CA$30 bonus.
- Forgetting the promo code and asking support afterwards (works sometimes).
- Keeping the whole bankroll in a volatile coin for weeks — use stablecoins if you plan to hold.
